You know, we’re not like Jack Torrance. We wouldn’t just keep hanging out at a clearly haunted hotel like it’s no big deal. The first sight of a phantom bartender or a bloody elevator and we’ll “nope” the heck outta there! Of course, that sort of timid nature doesn’t make for a good story… or a good board game for that matter! Luckily, in The Shining Board Game, you’ll be exploring one freaky hotel. What will you discover? Nothing good, we can assure you… but it makes for a thrilling gaming experience.

Fun Details

The game comes with cards, various tokens, and game pieces required. You can play with 3 to 5 players and each game takes between 40 to 60 minutes. It features 2 different styles of play, including a cooperative mode in which the players team up to survive with their sanity. Or, play the “Corrupt” variant, where one player has secretly lost their sanity and is actively trying to work against the other players.

How to Play

You and each player become the unfortunate caretakers of a haunted hotel. Each player begins with 3 health. Crazy encounters begin happening, which is dictated by the card. Each player must strategize how to acquire willpower tokens to stay sane through all of the events each month (round). Fail to get enough willpower tokens and you’ll end up turning upon your fellow players to attack them! If you can survive everything that the game throws at you, you win!
